Wert-Berater, Inc. is led by Mr. Donald Joseph Safranek, whose background combines institutional finance, economics, law, and global asset underwriting.

Mr. Safranek holds dual graduate degrees from the London School of Economics, earning an MSc in Economics and an LLB in Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Economics from Rollins College.

His professional foundation was formed at Lehman Brothers from 1982 where he began as an intern working his way up the ladder, where he worked in asset management on a $700 million real estate equity investment portfolio. This early exposure to institutional risk modeling, structured equity investments, and capital deployment established the analytical discipline that defines Wert-Berater’s approach to feasibility analysis.

Mr. Safranek later served in senior asset management and underwriting roles with Hatfield Philips, Inc., a division of Lehman Brothers, leading risk evaluation and asset repositioning strategies across residential, hospitality, commercial, industrial, energy, and infrastructure assets. His work spanned projects throughout Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and the Caribbean.

This institutional, hands-on experience underpins Wert-Berater’s valuation methodologies, market analyses, and underwriting frameworks. The firm specializes in preparing feasibility studies and third-party reports that meet the requirements of SBA and USDA Rural Development lending programs, including compliance with SBA SOP 50 10 8 and USDA RD Staff Instruction 5001.
