Donald Safranek leads Wert-Berater, Inc., the independent feasibility study and valuation practice he has run since 1998. The firm prepares lender- and agency-facing analysis: feasibility studies, market and demand studies, business plans, and valuation and monitoring work supporting SBA 7(a) and 504, USDA Rural Development, EB-5, conventional and institutional financing decisions.
Across that period the firm has completed more than 4,000 feasibility study engagements representing approximately $41.2 billion in evaluated project value, across all 50 states and internationally.
Every engagement is fixed-fee and quoted before work begins. Compensation never depends on a finding, on a conclusion of value, or on whether financing is obtained. Wert-Berater does not arrange, package or place financing, and takes no position on whether a lender should approve a credit. The fiduciary duty runs to the party relying on the report — ordinarily the lender or the agency.
That posture is the reason the firm's reports are accepted for third-party review: the analyst has nothing at stake in the answer. Where a project does not support the debt proposed, the report says so.
Donald Safranek writes the firm's analysis of lending policy and feasibility practice. Recent pieces include:
